Eleventh Partnership Newsletter- January 2014

Dear my Partners,     “Happy Chinese New Year!”

Thanksgivings: Thank you for remembering us in your prayers, Eva and I had great experience with the harvest at the COCM student camp in London and three weeks of fruitful studies with Jerusalem University College in Israel. We witnessed over ten Chinese students accepted Jesus in the year end camp, and many graduated students dedicated to God and will be serving in Europe and China as missionaries and professionals. Praise our Lord! We are very much encouraged and excited to experience the great need and harvest in the mission field in Europe, please remember this fact about the great mission field amount the students in UK in your prayers: “According to figures by the UK's Higher Education Statistics Agency, in 2008 and 2009, there were more than 47,000 students from China in nearly 50,000 in universities an increase of 3.7 from the previous year (in 2011-12, 78,715 students).”

News: I just heard great news today from a sister of Gordon-Conwell saying that she decides to serve in the church where I am doing mentored ministry now, Chinese Bible Church at Greater Lowell. Including Eva, and myself, Ruby, Joshua, and Matthew are serving in different congregations in the church. God is definitely blessing us and blessing the church. The small college town has HOPE!

Prayers Request: 1) Pray for all the lost souls to have the chance to hear the Gospel through Christians and the COCM missionary team, and the need of local churches and pastors.
2) Please pray for peace for Israel to have the everlasting shalom found in Jesus Christ, our Messiah.
3) Please pray for our new semester and ministry while Eva will be looking for counseling practicum and I will begin practicing spiritual direction.

Words from Philippians as To My Partners: “NO ONE CAN IMPRISON THE MESSAGE!”
Phil. 1:12-14 “I want to report to you, friends, that my imprisonment here has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered…”
So no matter how widespread atheism is in England, the Gospel will need to reach everyone;
And no matter how hard the heart of Israel is, the salvation will come to his chosen people.

As always, thank you for your partnership with me, and with Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to a great multitude of needy people throughout the earth.

With Gratitude in Christ,
Tom Chow

p.s. Please kindly reply, I hope to hear any news and prayer request from you!
2014 is here. I invite you to pray about continue partnering with me and Gordon-Conwell, “To advance Christ's Kingdom in every sphere of life by equipping Church leaders to think theologically, engage globally and live biblically."

Tenth Partnership Newsletter- December 2013

Dear my Partners,

Thanksgivings: “The Lord is come.” This morning when I was reading the Journey to the Manger (GCTS Advent Meditations), President Dr. Dennis Hollinger used this line from Joy to the World to wrap up the story of Simeon’s long-wait (Luk. 2:25-35). I finally tasted why the hymn write would use the English present-prefect tense to express the particular condition after learning the biblical language. It is intended to convey the transition of the waiting period to an Immanuel period, the Lord is come, he is dwelling among us, he is not gone, he has come with the Holy Spirit, and will come again as King.

News: Within this week, I witnessed much good news of people coming to Christ in my circles. In Brooklyn, there were over 10 teenagers came up to the altar to pass their hands over the candle of salvation during the Timothy/Acts/Samuel Fellowship Celebration at GCAC on Monday. In New England, a Chinese Students winter camp is going on now (with 74 non-Christians grad students) 7 of them accepted Christ on the second day, 13 on the third day, and another 7 today! Praise our Lord for them! In London, there is a Family camp (2/24 to 12/27) with 28 are non-believers, and a Student camp (12/28 to 1/1) with 40 new friends mostly post-90s generation from UK, France, and Ireland. We should definitely lift up all these people to the Lord in fervent prayer. The Lord is sending out workers to collect harvest, let’s remember them in prayer!

Prayers Request: 1) Pray that our Lord will be gloried and will speak to everyone in the Students camp (12/28 to 1/1). Eva and I will lead 2 worship sessions and connect with the students.
2) Please pray for me to share the Gospel with my cousins in London, and be a peacemaker to two famiies.

3) Please pray for safety and learning experience for Eva and I while studying Historical Settings of the Bible in Israel (1/6 to 1/26).

Words from Philippians as To My Partners: “May your love flourish, perfect, and prevail!”
Phil. 1:11 Msg, “…bountiful in fruits from the soul, making Jesus Christ attractive to all, getting everyone involved in the glory and praise of God.”

As always, thank you for your partnership with me, and with Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to a great multitude of needy people throughout the earth.
May my Lord pour out his grace on you and your family, and reward you on earth as it is in heaven!

With Gratitude in Christ,
Tom Chow
